Q:How high of the ground have to be installed?

A:Atleast 5 to 6 ft above the ground

Q:Does the light need to be activated?

A: Yes, press the on/off/mode button for 5 second to switch on.

Note it will not turn on if it's sunny or still light in your house.

Test in a dark room to the setting you want.
