TQ200 Marine planetarium, Chinese and English Marine planetarium  

The model of the celestial sphere is an auxiliary instrument used in navigation, astronomy teaching and popularization of astronomical knowledge. People use it to express various coordinates of the celestial sphere, the apparent motion of celestial bodies and solve some practical astronomical problems. The sphere is painted with the positions of bright stars, star names, constellations, and signs and degrees of several celestial coordinates. The antikythera stars are the opposite of those seen from the sky. This is due to the antikythera stars being seen from outside the antikythera system, but this does not affect the understanding of the sky. The antikythera mechanism has a metal shaft running through the center, representing the celestial axis, with the north and south poles at each end. The antikythera can rotate around the celestial axis. The celestial axis is mounted on a metal circle representing the meridian (see celestial coordinate system). The antikythera is mounted on a pedestal with a horizontal ring representing the horizon. The user can adjust the height of the celestial pole on the meridian according to the geographical latitude, and can make the celestial sphere rotate around the polar axis, so as to see the starry sky scene at different geographical latitude, at different dates, at different times, as well as the longitude (azimuth) and latitude (altitude) of a certain celestial body. It also shows the time and orientation of the sun on a given day, its transcelestial path, its meridian time, its altitude, and the length of day and night. The antikythera mechanism is of great practical value.
